Reading Frenzy BookShop is a locally owned, independent bookstore in Zimmerman, Minnesota. We are a member of the American Booksellers Association, IndieBound, Midwest Bookseller's Association, the Association of Booksellers for Children, and the Zimmerman Chamber of Commerce.
Reading Frenzy BookShop has been a lifelong dream of ours for as long as we can remember. Finally in October of 2008, the time came for us to actually begin! There is some controversy concerning from where the name “Reading Frenzy” actually came. Mike says he thought of it, and Sheri says she did. It is a bitter rivalry and a question whose true answer will likely never be known. But suffice it to say, regardless of who actually thought of it (we both know who it was, by the way!), the name stuck.
For over a year we have been online and have been out in the community doing bookshows and bookfairs at churches, schools, and expos. Finally on September 14th, 2010, we opened our storefront! Reading Frenzy BookShop is a community hangout, contemporarily designed, and a comfortable place to find a favorite book, listen to some local artists on the weekend, and enjoy exceptional customer service. We want to engage children, young adults, and others in the passion of reading so we offer events and discussions to connect with all ages. We are open right next to Dunn Bros Coffee - a block off of Hwy 169 & Fremont Ave. We have BOTH new and used books and other unique gifts! Your kids will love to visit our children's area! Frenzy, our dog, has made a special place for your kids to come and read. They will beg you to come back!
When you visit, you will notice that our gently used books are shelved right alongside our new books and there are some great buys! We also have a section towards the back of the store with used books that are a little more worn - or "well-loved". Remember, we can special order a title, if you don't see it on the shelf. Our extremely capable staff are experts at finding books for our customers!
You will quickly see that we LOVE local artists, books, and companies! Throughout the store, you will find locally made candies, artwork, t-shirts, journals, cards, book jewelry, etc. Our children's wall & our tables in the sitting area were painted by very talented local artists!
